Introducing the 500 DLX Series SHP865WD5N Dishwasher from Bosch in Stainless Steel
If you are looking for a nearly silent dishwasher with great features and endless racking possibilities, look no further.
This Bosch dishwasher features a pocket handle that that blends seamlessly into most kitchen designs. The controls are hidden into the top lip of the dishwasher door, removing unsightly electronics from the front panel. The effect is a sleek polished finished that has the added benefit of preventing little kids, or an accidental bump, from starting or stopping a wash cycle. And since the controls are hidden, Bosch has cleverly added an InfoLight that shines on the floor to let you know when the dishwasher is running.
What has changed in the new 500 DLX series Bosch dishwashers? In 2017 Bosch updated this best seller product with its flexible 3rd rack which allows you to place deeper items. Also, Bosch listened to its customers and introduced the easy glide upper rack along with more flexible tines. 500 DLX now also features Extra Scrub option which increases pressure and temperature in the entire lower rack for hard to remove food stains.
Quiet Performance at 44 dB
Rated at 44 decibels, expect this dishwasher to be extremely quiet. In fact, without Bosch's InfoLight feature, many customers say they wouldn't have even known the dishwasher was running. It's that quiet.
5 Wash Cycles
- Normal - Recommended for regular daily use. Washes full load of normally soiled dishes. 130-135 min | 2.3-5.5 gal | Wash Temp. 113-131F | Rinse Temp. 156F.
- Auto - Auto Wash tests how dirty dishes are throughout the wash and automatically adjusts to achieve optimum cleaning with minimum water and energy use. 105-129 min | 3.4-6.4 gal | Wash Temp. 127-131F | Rinse Temp. 153-156F.
- Heavy - Cleans items with baked-on food or grease. Ideal for pots and pans. To enhance the clean you can pre-soak or hand scour the dishes.
- Rinse - Gives you the flexibility to wait for a full load without unwanted odors in less than 10 min. This cycle to quickly rinses dishes. Uses very low energy and less water than hand rinsing.
- Speed60 Express Wash - Recommended to clean freshly soiled glasses and dishes (moderate soil levels). This wash and dry cycle lasts under 60 minutes.
6 Wash Options
- Delay - Allows you to delay the start time of your dishwasher up to 24 hours.
- Half Load - Reduces water consumption when washing lightly soiled loads which occupy approximately half of your dishwasher.
- Sanitize - Boosts wash/rinse/dry time and drying temperature for optimum disinfecting performance at 162F. This option is ideal for cleaning chopping boards and baby bottles. Using Sanitize also improves drying.
- Delicate - Cleans at reduced temperature with shorter cycle time. This option is best for lightly soiled glasses and dishes. Bosch recommends rinse aid for high gloss drying function.
- Extra Dry - Extra Dry option raises drying temperature to 162F and extends drying time. It enhances drying performance and to provides a brilliant shine.
- Extra Scrub - Increased pressure and temperature in the lower rack for hard to remove soil. Ideal for pots and pans.
Stainless Steel Tub
Inside, this dishwasher has a stainless steel tub. Stainless tub dishwashers are quieter than plastic tubs and are capable of washing at higher temperatures for better cleaning results.
Large Capacity Fits 16 Place Settings
This Bosch SHP865WD5N 500 DLX series dishwasher can hold 16 place settings at a time. The lower rack has folding tines that can be adjusted to accommodate any type of load. The upper rack features RackMatic allowing you to configure the basket in 9 different positions. The 500 series introduces a 3rd rack designed to offer better silverware cleaning results while adding an additional 30% more loading capacity.
Gentle Drying
This dishwasher uses condensation drying, which relies on the hot temperature of the final wash cycle to encourage water to naturally evaporate instead of relying on inefficient heating elements that can potentially melt plastics and bake in unwanted calcium residue. The unit also includes a Rinseaid dispenser to help improve drying performance and reduce water spots.
