Miele waited many years before introducing this French Door refrigerator to the US market. There is a specific reason for that. None of the French Door refrigerators sold in the US seal properly. All manufacturers usually seal the door via a flap that gets into position whenever the door panel is close to getting shut. Which in turn creates a problem if you are used to letting go of the door with a slam. Or if you have teen agers in the house who quick and forcefully shut doors. Miele is the only brand with a supburb door seal without the annoying flap.
